Thoughts, Love, and Prayers!

My heart is breaking and tears are streaming down my face as I type.  I can't stop thinking about the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  I hugged each of my 21 students a bit tighter this afternoon.  My thoughts and prayers are with those in Newtown and will continue to be for a long time!

Happy 50th Day of School!

We celebrated the 50th day of school by learning about past and present.
We went back in time to the 1950s!
We dressed like people dressed in the 50s.
The boys rolled up their pants.
Saddle oxfords!
Poodle skirts!
We made root beer floats!
Slurp!
Yum!
So much more fun to drink out of a straw!
We made a "Do you like root beer floats?" graph.  However, their wasn't much to graph since everyone LOVED root beer floats!
We wrote about the number 50.
 We made 50 tally marks.
We skip counted by 2's to 50.
We skip counted by 5's to 50.
We wrote number sentences to show 50.  We are so smart!  What a fun day!
